Brightwater Festival

What is it This annual event celebrates the diverse offerings of the Brightwater and Nelson region. Not only is the area known for its spectacular scenery and unspoilt natural surroundings but it produces some of the finest horticultural and seafood products in the country. The area has attracted many artisans who are inspired by the surroundings and add to the colour and excitement of the area. What to do This one day event encourages a relaxed gathering of all age groups in a beautiful rural vineyard setting. Local wine and food producers provide a stunning array of different products along with local arts and crafts, live music and entertainment.

Where is it The celebration is held on Lightband's vineyards on the fringes of Brightwater village. Surrounded by ranges and set in the midst of the Waimea plains you will have the opportunity to see for yourself why this area is rapidly developing its reputation for the finest of wines. Follow the main south highway to the West Coast from Nelson for about 20km and turn off at Brightwater. The festival can be accessed from Bryants Rd, Brightwater, Nelson.
